Tonight, we were bored, we couldn't get a sitter to have our date night, so Jon suggested we take pizza and head up the canyon.
It was raining down here, but it didn't look like it was too bad up the canyon. As we got higher the rain came down hard, we thought, well worse case we will just eat our pizza in the care.
We went to Silver Lake and found a picnic table not too wet and started eating. About 15 minutes later it was a down pour with rain and hail. We took off and ran back to our car...it was fun to watch the girls..Addi loved the rain on her face! We finished eating in the car and once it cleared up we went on a walk on the trail. Half way into our walk it down poured again, so we took some pictures and got in the car and came home.
I love these kind of nights, so spontaneous and it was so much fun! The temperature reading in our car at Silver Lake was only 49'. It was cold and it felt great. The leaves were so pretty, not many have turned yet, but it is getting me in the mood for Fall.

What is wrong....was your babysitter busy???? Those last minute trips are the best!!!! And I know your kids loved to be with you and enjoy your company. I see you are making arrangements with the babysitter early this week! Good for you! She loves your children.
You guys are such a cute family. I love spontaneous adventures, even in the rain.
fun! I wish we did more spontaneous things once in a while. Where is Silver lake anyway??
