Finally

I have been really self -conscious about a mole on my face. I feel like people are always staring at it and thinking "gross, Jamie!" I think it looks like a wart instead of a mole. I finally called the dermatologist and made my appointment to have it and one on my arm looked at.
I am so happy to say, the Doctor removed it and the one on my arm. He was concerned about the one on my arm, he thinks it is possibly skin cancer....yikes! I can't believe how bad the needle hurt in my face but when she gave me the shot in my arm I couldn't even feel it.
I will hear back in a week, if it turns out to be abnormal, I will have to go back and they will have to cut deeper to make sure they remove it completely.
Now that I am getting older, I need to be better at taking care of myself. I know too many people that have had skin cancer and they have been through so much.

I am hoping this will help a little with my self image.


I guess I should thank my Dad, I get my moles from him and his side of the family..

Dinosaur Museum

Yesterday, we went to Thanksgiving Point. We have been wanting to go to the Dinosaur Museum, but wasn't sure it would be worth the money. It was!! It was awesome, Ayden had a blast. There was so much to look at and a lot of hands on things for the kids. I would recommend taking your kids. Jon and I were very impressed, we actually learned quite a bit too. Of course, of course I went camera HAPPY. Addi hung in there for most of it, but finally fell asleep. We were in the museum for 2 1/2 hours and then went to the deli and had lunch. It was nice to have Jon with us, he usually misses out on this kind of stuff.

So Sorry....

OK, so I didn't realize my last few entries.....boring!! They should have been titled, G-ma and
G-pa's blog. I guess my life is pretty blah, so when we do something or go somewhere, it is SO thrilling to me, I just have to post it!! (how pathetic)... I wish I could write more freely and open like a few of my friends, but I just don't have it in me. So I apologize for my posts, maybe I should start making things up to make myself sound more interesting.

I'm tired!!! (or just lacking my youthfulness)

Holy cow! We had a crazy and fun week. The highlights were: petting zoo at Gardner Village on Tues. My birthday dinner on Wednesday with my parents and niece. (yes I am freakin' old)!. Friday, went to the canyon roasted marshmallows and ate dinner with our friends. Saturday we went to Draper Days. We went to the parade, went back to G-ma Walkenhorsts made a yummy b-fast (thanks Jon and Barry). Made a slippin slide and played in the swimming pool, had a BBQ and watched fireworks!! Ok, I am so tired and so are my girls.

Another great Lava trip!

We have survived another great Lava Hot Springs reunion. We go to Lava every 3 years for the Hunsaker family reunion. We had a blast this year also. I was so proud of Ayden, she tubed the river and didn't cry (like I was expecting!). It was great to see family that we haven't seen in awhile.

A Great Holiday!

My lil' swimmin fish!!

We had such a great 4th of July! This year, instead of being grouchy, hot, sweaty, listening to my child whine(ha ha) at the Riverton park, we spent the hot day at Raging Waters. I was expecting the place to be jammed packed..surprise it was not. Jon was at the F.D (having his own fun) and Addi was lucky to go over to our fabulous neighbor, Jolene's house. Ayden and I had a great time. We went with my brother, Troy, and his family. Ayden had a blast hanging out with all of them. After Rage, we cleaned up, picked up Addi, and headed to Riverton park for the best fireworks in town. They were awesome! What a wonderful and important holiday!
